SIDE Apple & Sausage Stuffing

I think apples and maple sausage just go together, especially when tossed with cubed sweet bread (like brioche), baked and served.  This recipe makes a batch big enough to eat on throughout the week!

Ingredients

1 loaf bread, cubed (bread can be your choice-but pre-sliced brioche and sourdough are great options) and toasted

1 lb sausage links or ground sausage, removed from casings (just use a knife to make a slit and peel the casing right off!)

2 Tbsp fresh sage, chopped finely

3 stalks celery, chopped

1 yellow onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 organic honeycrisp, cored and cubed (peels can be left on if organic)

2 Tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp salt and black pepper

1 quart chicken broth
