Matt Monson, Director of Meal Planning
matt@getvie.com
Matt has been working in the food industry for most of his life, from his aunt’s bagel shop in middle school to managing a brewery. “I get an intense joy from creating food for people and serving them. There’s no better way to foster a genuine friendship with someone than feeding them something you’re passionate about.” His notable adventures in food began in college while working at an upscale restaurant in Davidson, NC. The chef at this restaurant took him under his wing and opened his mind to the world of the culinary art (and also Alton Brown and Good Eats deserve a thanks for their part). Other escapades include owning a bakery for five years and managing a brewery. “The greatest obstacle people face in learning to cook is confidence in the kitchen. If you can cultivate your excitement and the motivation to succeed, you will absolutely experience success.” Matt always buys college graduates Alton Brown’s book, I’m Just Here For the Food and wants everybody to read this book!
Lynsie Steele, Founder
lynsie@getvie.com
Lynsie founded Vie on the principle that everyone can (and deserves to) eat well, even on a tight budget. Vie is a dream come true for this chef/entrepreneur/mom of six and she is ecstatic to be right where she is supposed to be during this food revolution that is moving toward cooking empowerment, less waste in the kitchen and healthier eating habits for every member of the family.
Sarah Struckmann, Events
viesarahs@gmail.com
Sarah is a longtime Cville resident and an event-planning guru. She’s also a mom of two! Having run her own event company in Washington D.C. before moving to Charlottesville, she is one of the founding members of Team Vie and adds a lot of attention to detail and organization to our events, big and small. Contact her if you’d like to work with Vie for your next event. We offer group cooking classes & private lectures.
Cynthia Pryor, Kroger Meal Planner
cindy@getvie.com
Cindy is a health & fitness advocate who credits her enthusiasm for cooking to her husband. She finds joy in creating weekly menus at home and in trying new and exciting dishes. She is a teacher in Albemarle County and when she can, she loves to travel to new places. Her love of good food and organization led her to join the Vie team. She amazes us with every meal plan she creates and her approach is simple: easy to prepare, healthy food with some fun thrown in. We are so thankful she is with us!
Gaby Moore, Assistant Photographer
gabriela.moore5@gmail.com
When Gaby is not shooting photographs of local families as part of her business, Gabriela Moore Photography, she’s using Vie for her husband and two kiddos and hanging out at the Vie office working as a secondary shooter for Lynsie. She’s the gal behind many of the photographs of the Meal Plan dishes that accompany our recipes.
Dana Thiele, Videography
dana.c.thiele@gmail.com
When Dana’s not wrangling her three kids or winning a foot race, she’s often behind the camera shooting still images of locals as well as making amazing videos for local Charlottesville businesses. Dana created Vie’s first video of Lynsie in her own kitchen and is a huge asset to Vie as we grow and expand our YouTube presence. Dana, a graduate of UVA with a degree in Art, sees beauty in all things and always (thankfully) from a different angle.
