Introducing our first-ever Kids’ Cooking Camp 2019!
Do your little ones love being in the kitchen but need some extra guidance? Sign them up for our first-ever (and much demanded) kids’ cooking camp! Our beginners class (Petit Chefs) is designed for ages 4-8, and siblings are welcome at a 50% discount. We also offer separate camps for intermediate and advanced cooks ages 8-12 and 12-16.
Each day we will cover foundation cooking techniques, knife skills, food prep basics as well as kitchen hygiene, set up and clean up, table etiquette and more! Your child(ren) will leave camp with basic culinary knowledge that will help them advance in the kitchen. They will also use the skills they’ve learned during camp to create a meal for parents at the end of the week, and will leave with a Vie recipe book detailing the meals they learned to make for home use.

Class is taught at Vie HQ (aka Lynsie’s home located in picturesque Ivy, Virginia). Lynsie is not only the Founder of Vie, but a culinary educator with 14 years of experience teaching children and adults how to cook through a commonsense approach. Lynsie’s experience includes working as the Garden-to-Table Chef & Instructor at Mountaintop Montessori for ages 1st – 8th grade. Lynsie also has six children of her own, so working with kids in the kitchen comes very naturally. The experience that Lynsie has picked up working with children in a Montessori environment is an invaluable resource when it comes to working with your children during this camp! Your children will leave with a surprisingly well-built skill set and a new-found confidence in the kitchen.
Stay tuned for Menus and Curriculum, which will include simple vegetable prep, baking, stove top cooking, and roasting. Your children will also learn basic techniques for cooking grains, beans and preparing soups.

Lynsie is a culinary educator & certified First Aid & CPR provider.
We challenge you to get better in the kitchen; to feel empowered and learn how to master simple skills (from chopping an onion to throwing down a beautiful béchamel sauce). What’s that you ask? Learn from us and you’ll get to show all your fancy friends!

Classes start at $100 for two, then $40 for each student thereafter. The cost of the ingredients are included in the price of the class and if you’d like to pair your menu with a wine tasting, we can set everything up for you!
